Procurement Internship
The Council of County
Governors (COG) is a non-partisan organization established under Section 19 of
the Intergovernmental Relations Act (IGRA 2012). The Council of Governors
comprises of the Governors of the forty-seven Counties. main functions are the promotion
of visionary leadership; sharing of best practices and; offer a collective
voice on policy issues; promote inter-county consultations; encourage and
initiate information sharing on the performance of County Governments with
regard to the execution of their functions; collective consultation on matters
of interest to County Governments.
For better execution of
its mandate, the Council of Governors is established in various sectorial
working Committees and Departments. To enable the Council, achieve its mandate
and vision, the Council wishes to recruit an Intern to support the Procurement Department
at the Council:
Scope of Assignments
Support the Procurement
Department general running of stores and procurement activities during the
preparation of the upcoming devolution Conference 2023.
Responsibilities
The specific duties and
responsibilities will include:
- Proper documentation of all procured items; planning and
coordination of purchasing and supply services; - Controlling requisitions of items and services in the Council;
- Prepare and execute purchase orders and requisitions;
- Follow-up on delivery;
- Stores Receipt, Issue on demand;
- Coordinate inspection;
- Receive invoices;
- Prepare completion certificates;
- Initiate payment processes (Process Goods received notes);
- Monitor stock level & Ensure replenishment;
- Issue consumables and;
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
The Assignments will be
supervised by and reporting to the Supply Chain Management Officer
Duration of the assignment
The internship duration is
for a period of six (6) months.
Required Qualifications
- Have a Bachelor Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain
Management or a related field; - Certificate in Computer applications.
- Experienced in undertaking comprehensive research;
- Outstanding Interpersonal, analytical and communication
skills; - Ability to follow deadlines, accuracy and attention to detail;
- A high level of computer literacy and proficient in written
and spoken English and Kiswahili; and - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
