Key Requirements:
- Be able to estimate the fabric consumption and trims required for each sample and hence provide this accurate information to procurement for sampling and bulk production.
- Support pattern maker in creation of patterns and grading based on client specification.
- Oversee construction of samples and support sample machinists
- Ensure sample construction planning is created in such a way that enables efficient smooth bulk production.
- Ensure production team receive detailed clear information on client orders (based on sample construction planning) to deliver seamless production and delivery orders.
- Oversee sampling team to work on fit comments received from clients and ensure accurate amendments to patterns and samples to ensure smooth and fast approval of samples.
- Liaise with the Product Development Manager and sample team to ensure fast turnaround time for the sample and at the same time provide accurate information for production planning.
- Provide support and oversight across all sampling departments to include patterns, cutting, QC, sampling making, procurement etc.
Qualifications:
- Relevant bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 8 years experience working within the garment industry.
- Must have an understanding of manufacturing, textiles, and garment construction.
- Ability to work alone as well as in a team.
- Be able to work under tight deadlines and cope with pressure.
- Demonstrate an understanding of pattern cutting, construction, and manufacturing techniques.
- Technical knowledge gained preferably within a fast-paced commercial or supplier environment.
- Flexible approach to be able to adjust to the constantly changing needs of the business.
- Exceptional eye for technical detail to consistently ensure the correct documentation is used and followed.
- Applied technical knowledge of fabrics and threads.
- Highly organized with good prioritization skills
- Confident and clear communication skills; both verbal and written.
