TrustWave is a rapidly growing social commerce platform that launched in Nairobi in early 2022. TrustWave’s mission is to enrich the fast-growing e-commerce space in Kenya by providing a link between online merchants and their customers , improving the shopping experience and helping to grow the overall markets.
Summary
TrustWave is actively recruiting an engineering leader to join its talented team, focused on achieving its strategic goal of becoming the most efficient and innovative e-commerce platform in Kenya and East Africa. TrustWaveuses React for its web application and React Native for the Mobile App. On the backend, it uses Firebase with Firestore. Experience working with Twilio, Daraja API, and owning product development in high-ambiguity fast paced environments are all considered, but not required for position.
Responsibilities
- You will be part of an agile team that develops e-commerce, smart logistics, and payment solutions.
- Your work will integrate a service-oriented architecture using state-of-the-art technologies and software development practices.
- You’ll be writing code for our backend, frontend, integrations and infrastructure.,
- You’ll be charged with making architectural decisions that will be pillars of the engineering organization for years to come.
- You’ll ensure top-quality code; practice code reviews, unit tests, integration tests, end-to-end tests in a continuous integration environment
- You’ll use a holistic, test-oriented approach to troubleshoot and upgrade the application based on customer and team feedback
- You’ll leadership qualities with an ability to take ownership of technical projects and processes
- Over time, you’ll deploy code to production with a high level of automation, code coverage, and monitoring
What we are looking for
- You have deep expertise in all things React.
- You have substantial skills and experience using Firebase and React Native
- You can have substantial experience and knowledge of Tracy
- You can articulate understanding of basic backend concepts (preferably Serverless and more specifically Firebase)
- You have experience in delivering code to a production environment for 2+ years in a commercial setting with real users
- You’re experienced with multiple areas of mobile or Front-End development. From API calls and auto-layout to building processes and test cases.
- You have experience working in a cross-discipline environment with designers and other engineers to define and produce features.
- You may have some experience with Notable appreciation of Tailwind CSS, Ionic, and the M-Pesa Daraja API will be an added advantage
- You have a growth mindset: a desire to learn from others and make yourself better every day.
- You have a bias for action. You see a problem, you fix a problem.
