 We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for Commercial Manager in the Financial Services Business Unit. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

Brief Posting Description

Reporting to the Tribe Lead, the role holder is accountable for conducting market research and developing the best possible value proposition within the constraints of the available budget, developing a pricing and product marketing strategy that will maximize sales and profitability while also supporting the segment strategic plan.  Additionally, they will also be responsible for the management of the customer base and developing a sales channel strategy that aligns with the omnichannel experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Driving end-to-end delivery of Customer Value proposition


• The role holder generates customer insights, develops comprehensive value propositions and Go-To-Market strategies that will enable Safaricom to drive acquisition, usage, and retention of customers, while gaining on key consideration, usage, and affinity brand metrics specific to the segment.


• Ensure that the commercial strategy is implemented in alignment with the overall tribe strategy, market needs, and requirements. Responsible for gaining leadership in the market segment in Kenya.


• Channel Acceleration/penetration


• Business process analysis


• Process engineering

 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a recognized university


• A Master’s degree will be an added advantage


• At least 5-8 years’ experience in a large corporate or multinational company, demonstrated progression, and at least 3 years’ experience in a Telecommunications company handling partnerships, business development, and strategy formulation.


• Must have a good understanding of the payment/financial services market.


• Must have excellent financial and analytical skills.


• Must demonstrate an awareness of current events and trends.


• Experience in management of budgets and forecasts in a large company


• Track record of innovation and development of new products and services

Must demonstrate strategy execution/delivery.

a)    An updated CV with contacts of three referees, 2 who must be professional and must have supervised you at some point, the other referee can be a colleague in the same professional field.

b)    Kenyan Certificate of Good Conduct (Less than 1 year old) or a receipt of the same from the CID pending release of the hardcopy document.

c)     Clearance certificate from a reputable Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).

d)    University Diploma/Degree Certificate/ Letter of completion from university in case you have not received your diploma/degree certificate.

e)     National ID/Passport
