Assistant Lab Technician Job, Laboratory Technologist Kenyan Jobs 2022,

This is an entry position in technical services in the University, and appointment is either on permanent and pensionable terms or on a two (2) year renewable performance-based contract depending on age, citizenship and any other reason

Qualifications

• Applicants must have a Diploma preferably in Electronics and Instrumentation, Electronics and Telecommunication, Mechanical Engineering or related fields.


• Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years relevant practical working experience with proven integrity, independence, innovativeness and compliance to deadlines.

Responsibilities

The successful candidates’ duties will include and not be limited to

• Reading related field blueprints and performing job lay outs.


• Practicing safe working habits.


• Preparing reports pertaining to repairs and scheduled maintenance and other tasks.


• Assisting in maintaining and undertaking minor repairs of lab equipment.


• Assisting in maintaining an updated inventory of consumables and non-consumables in the areas of jurisdiction


• Assisting in preparation of budget materials for teaching materials


• Assisting in ensuring that the area of jurisdiction is secure and available whenever necessary


• Assisting in conducting student practicals at postgraduate and undergraduate levels


• Supporting departmental innovations, research and income generating activities


• Any other duty assigned by the immediate supervisor
