Our client is a leading retailer dealing with ICT hardware and software solutions. They seek a competent and self-driven individual to perform the roles of a company accountant who will be reporting to the Finance and Administration Manager. He/ she shall be responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial reports, advise management on the financial implication of business decisions and ensure compliance to the company’s financial policies.


Key Responsibilities



  • Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and related reports in an accurate and timely manner and in adherence to relevant IFRSs.

  • Ensuring that subsidiary ledgers are reconciled to the general ledger on a monthly basis and various other reconciliations are also performed.

  • Accurate and timely compilation of tax reports and statutory returns, ensuring that these are promptly submitted to the relevant authorities & regularly consulting with tax advisors as and when necessary.

  • Ensuring that the company books are ready for audit within the set deadlines. Providing the necessary information for internal and external audits and implementing recommendations as necessary.

  • Keeping abreast with the latest changes to tax & related legislation plus accounting standards, to ensure the company’s compliance. 

  • Supporting the timely and accurate preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, to ensure budgetary controls are in place and report on variances.

  • Cash flow management

  • Any other duties that may be delegated by the supervisor from time to time.


Requirements



  • CPA (K) or ACCA Finalist.

  •  A business undergraduate degree will be an added advantage.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position. Experience in a busy retail environment will be an added advantage.
