Analytics Engineer at Sokowatch

Sokowatch enables informal retailers to order products at anytime via SMS or mobile app, and receive free same-day delivery to their store. This makes it easier for shopkeepers to source goods and helps manufacturers ensure that their products are consistently available to consumers. Sokowatch’s systems track real-time sales and orders across thousands of stores. Access to market trends and purchasing habits enables manufacturers to tailor their marketing strategies and allows Sokowatch to offer personalized promotions and business insights to individual retailers.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• You help further develop our Data Warehouse by building analytical data models and data marts


• You build data models that enable our business stakeholders to make better decisions more efficiently with the help of data


• You build robust data pipelines with the help of graphical ETL/ELT tools such as Dataform, Talend or Dbt.


• You develop code that meets our standards for style, maintainability and best practices


• You create and maintain architecture and systems documentation


• You maintain a data catalogue to provide a scalable resource to support self-service and single-source-of-truth analytics

Requirements:

• You are excited about the challenges of an e-commerce business such as forecasting demand, optimizing delivery schedules and routing, managing inventory, increasing customer lifetime value, and have ideally gathered first-hand experience in any of these fields


• You have a positive, can-do attitude


• You have 3+ years of experience building data marts and analytical data models, ideally in an agile and fast-growing start-up environment


• You have 3+ years of experience working with version control systems


• You have hands-on experience with Cloud Data Warehouses in Big Query, Amazon Redshift or Snowflake


• You have 3+ years of experience working with graphical ETL/ELT Tools such as Dataform, Talend or Dbt


• Python Skills and experience with Apache Airflow are very nice to have


• Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau or Power BI is also nice to have.
