Educate! works to transform education in Africa to teach youth to solve poverty for themselves and their communities. Educate! provides youth with skills training in leadership, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness along with mentorship to start real businesses at school. Our model is delivered through practically-trained teachers and youth mentors. Educate!’s goal is to make this practical, skills-based model part of national education systems.Position Overview


Educate! currently achieves impact on youth life outcomes through direct delivery of our model in schools (what we call “School Solutions”) and through the integration of our model into national education systems (“Education System Solutions”). In addition to these two solution areas, in 2019, Educate! launched a new and innovative pathway to sustainably impact out-of-school youth (OoSY) livelihoods at scale through the Kenyan-led social enterprise NawiriPro.


NawiriPro wants to empower and train OoSY on running successful informal sector businesses, starting with the motorbike courier industry by teaching them how to increase their income and improve their livelihood. NawiriPro runs a 4-week training program in Nairobi covering the Boda Boda business course on leveraging the boda app technology for passengers where OoSY will be learning online and in a classroom setup with a goal of getting boda boda driving licenses and joining boda apps and increasing daily income.


Summary


NawiriPro is looking for a Field Mobilization Agent who will be an active listener with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, has a passion for supporting customers throughout their journey with us, can empathize with our different customer segments by identifying their pains and needs, is quick to learn new skills and tools coupled with an entrepreneurial mindset which ables him/her come up with permanent solutions for the challenges facing interested bodaboda customers.


This role is responsible for ensuring that over 70% of OoSY in each sub-county are reached and their details are collected. The field mobilization agent is responsible for reaching and delivering a powerful pitch to interest OoSY in joining the boda industry and collecting their details through ODK Collect with absolute courtesy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities



  • Reach at least 50 potential users per day in your mobilization ward and successfully pitch to and collect information with ODK Collect.

  • Satisfactorily complete required onboarding training through zoom or Google Meet.

  • Pitch to and convince potential users to register online for NawiriPro platform and start making driving school payments to their prefered driving schools.

  • Conversant with Nairobi sub-counties and the environs.

  • Collect and submit accurate data using ODK Collect

  • Document and share customer feedback.

  • You will also be required to make accurate and timely reports to Learning Point on all mobilization activities

  • Other related job duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Diploma/Degree graduates

  • Has experience working in the research industry e.g Huduma/IEBC registration or short term contracts as research assistants

  • Must have a working smartphone

  • Digital literacy or ability to use zoom, google meet, e-mails, WhatsApp, other social media platforms

  • Ability to converse (pitch) with fellow potential users in Swahili or sheng and convince them

  • Willing to learn how to use smartphone to collect data using ODK Collect

  • Self driven & passionate to work with persons interested in the boda industry

  • Good understanding of Nairobi and its environs

  • Active listening who is willing to learn

  • Organizational skills including prioritizing, time management, and meeting deadlines

  • A youth leader or Shimo chairman with strong networks is preferred but not a must have qualification.
