Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning, directing, supervision and control of all the Institutes activities assigned to the Secretariat by the Executive
Council as well as supervise and manage Secretariat staff.
- Development of strategies to promote, protect and maintain the credibility and image of IIK, recommend and implement
- policies, plans, budgets and management information and control systems designed to achieve the Institute’s
- objectives.
- Overseeing Preparation of regular and periodic operating and financial reports.
- Supervises and co-ordinates the Chartered Insurance Institute London exams on behalf of the CII London.
- Maintains high level contacts with national, regional and international organizations to ensure effective achievement of the objectives of the Institute.
- Supervises the efficient and effective delivery/provision of all support services and facilities required for the proper
- running of the secretariat and the EC.
- Co-ordinates the membership of the Institute, promote public relations and networking with other organizations whose
- activities interface with those of the Institute.
- Mobilizes resources for funding of the Institute’s activities in consultation with the EC.
- Organize and prepare for AGM, Council meetings, committee meetings, seminars and workshops.
- Oversee the membership recruitment drive in Nairobi and all other counties
- Organize the Annual CPD Programs for Insurance Professionals with guidance from the Executive Council
- Organize, plan and reach out to the most suitable facilitators for CPD Programs
- Plan and execute the CPD programs and oversee all communications on the same from the start to the execution of the program to the collection of monies from the participating companies
- Financial – plan for growth of surplus reduction of expenses & efficient collection of debtors
- Oversee execution of various tasks after the event – Thanking facilitators & efficient & timely delivery of tokens of
- appreciation, thanking Attendees and ensuring they receive certificates and program presentations in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS & QUALITIES
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Marketing, or Information Science from a recognized university. MBA is an added advantage
- Over 5 years’ progressive experience in an organization
- In charge of members welfare, client service and public relations will be an added advantage
- Membership with a relevant professional body.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, organizational, creative, problem solving and excellent communication skills.
- Absolute discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent Leadership skills.
- Excellent delegation skills
- Self-driven and taking responsibility
- HR knowledge will be an added advantage
