The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation (EGPAF) is a global leader in the fight against pediatric HIV and AIDS, working in 15 countries and at more than 6,000 sites around the world to prevent the transmission of HIV to children, and to help those already infected. Today, because of the highly successful work of EGPAF and its partners, pediatric AIDS has been virtually eliminated in the United States. How will you fight for an AIDS-free generation?


Under the guidance of the Senior Health Informatics Officer, the Health Informatics Intern will be responsible for providing technical support to existing eHealth/mHealth systems deployed in supported facilities. He/she will also work with the informatics team to ensure routine timely monthly data uploads to the National Data WareHouse. During the tenure, the intern will gain valuable experience in Health Informatics in a fast-paced environment.


No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect as a Title?


During the course of the placement, the intern will work with their mentors/supervisors to gain experience and knowledge in the following professional roles and responsibilities:



  • Design and development of android and web-based m-health solutions.

  • Understanding existing EMR (eHealth and mHealth), in-house, and donor systems.

  • Providing technical support to existing eHealth/mHealth systems in supported facilities.

  • Support routine EMR database uploads to the National Data Warehouse.

  • Training and capacity building health workers on use of existing eHealth / mHealth systems.


Requirements


To be successful, you will have:



  • At least Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, or Information Technology.

  • Ability to prioritize workload and demonstrate outcomes on strict deadlines.


Bonus points if you have:



  • Understanding of MySQL will be an added advantage.
