Deputy Director -Strategy, Research and Quality Assurance at Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board

The Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board is a statutory body which regulates the practice of medicine in Kenya

The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail: –

1. Advising management on all policies, strategies and programmes relating to research, strategy and planning, performance management, quality assurance and risk management.


2. Developing and reviewing strategic and business plans for the Council.


3. Monitoring implementation of the strategic plan;


4. Managing performance process at the Council;


5. Overseeing the preparation and implementation of the Council’s performance contract;


6. Co-ordinating the performance of all the departments and divisions;


7. Submitting monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual organisational performance report to the Chief Executive Officer;


8. Establishing operational linkages with other departments within the Council;


9. Preparation and implementation of the Council’s Quality Management System through quality assurance programmes;


10. Co-ordination of risk management in the Council;


11. Development and maintenance of the Risk management Register;


12. Implementation of quality management system (QMS) and other business reengineering processes initiatives;


13. Promoting innovations within the Council;


14. Ensuring Council compliance to the existing legal and Regulatory requirements;


15. Supervision and coordination of staff within the department;


16. Carrying out performance appraisal for the departmental staff;


17. Preparing budget and procurement plans for the department.
