Our Client is in the renewable energy sector providing smart and sustainable solutions to families across the world. They seek to hire a Sales & Marketing Director to design, implement and optimize sales & marketing strategies to achieve company targets of its LPG products.
Responsibilities
- Strategically leads the design, implementation & optimization of go-to-market operations for LPG in Nairobi with a shared P&L responsibility (sales, marketing & customer care)
- Ensure LPG product penetration and distribution in the market ensuring that customer service is uncompromised.
- Develops, manages and updates sales, marketing & customer care forecasts & operating budgets in a timely manner.
- Oversees the recruitment, training & development of a best-in-class team of LPG sales, marketing & customer care professionals, building a true service culture into the organization.
- Holds team members accountable for the delivery of personal targets, mentoring and developing their capabilities, enabling career development and effective succession planning.
- Ensure effective control of budgets taking corrective action to ensure that the achievement of objectives happens within designated budgets.
- Oversees and evaluates market insight studies, adjusting sales & marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Monitors and evaluates competitor products, sales, marketing & customer care activities.
- Analyse sales & marketing activities, extracting and disseminating learning to relevant stakeholders
- Ensures close integration of sales & marketing teams, and cooperation with support functions.
- Prepares periodic sales reports showing achievement versus target, future potential, and new areas for business expansion.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing and/or 15+ years’ experience in sales & marketing at a senior leadership level (functional leader / departmental Director)
- Must have prior experience in the service Industry
- Evidence of having successfully developed and lead the implementation of a new route-to-market strategy for existing and completely new products & services
- Evidence of having created and lead a completely new sales & marketing team
- Minimum of 5 years in a rapid growth environment, preferably building a business from scratch or creating a completely new product category
- Evidence of having achieved sales through Partnerships (Key Account management)
- Ability to motivate and lead a large (remotely-based) team
- Highly-developed complement of sales & marketing professional skills
- Experience in last mile distribution direct B to C
