This is the entry and training grade for Diploma holders. An officer at this level will work under the guidance and close supervision of a senior officer.
Specific duties will involve provision of agricultural engineering works, services and mechanization extension;
- supervising machinery in the field to ensure quality work output with proper utilization and maintenance of machinery;
- Ensuring proper machinery maintenance and repairs while in the field for continuity of operations;
- participating in assessment, appraisal and evaluation of work;
- carrying out reconnaissance surveys and farm mapping services for development of soil and water conservation structures, water harvesting and cropping;
- Providing survey services to clients;
- Farm planning.
Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer MUST have:
- Diploma in a field of Agricultural Engineering such as Soil and Water, mechanization/Farm Power, Structures, Surveying or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Certificate in Computer applications from a recognized institution
