Job Title: Credit Controller – Transport

Our client is a taxi fleet service provider.
They seek to hire a credit controller to handle debt collection and credit management.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Contacting individuals or business customers when payment is overdue and asking them to settle their account while explaining the terms of their credit
- Using specialist computer databases to check credit records
- Responsible for all customer accounts, Bad Debts Provision and charging of Interest on customer accounts.
- Processing payments
- Ensure credit limits are adhered to and discounts given per regulations/approvals existing at the time.
- Visiting debtors to collect payments
- Ensure that the set procedures and control of invoices, credit notes etc. are followed.
- Tracing missing debtors
- Liaise with the invoicing clerks in the processing of Credit and Debit notes for customers; ensure all supporting documents are attached.
- Starting legal proceedings if debts are not paid within an agreed time
- Monthly reconciliation of Debtors control ledger with Debtors sub ledger accounts.
- Arranging for goods to be repossessed to cover the outstanding debt
- Monthly reconciliation of Debtors control ledger with Debtors sub ledger accounts.
- Enforce the credit terms and limits
- Ensure banking is done on a daily basis. Post receipts for banking and reconciliations of customers
- Prepare weekly and monthly Collection Report and Aged debtors analysis reports and provide the same to the finance manager and respective Departmental Managers.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in B.COM (accounting option)
- CPA II finalist
- 2 years experience in Credit control
- Have the ability to explain financial reports clearly.
- Should have worked in a medium or large organization
- Ms Office applications.
