Internal Auditor – Mombasa
 

Responsible for performing, planning and execution of compliance, financial, and operational audits and special projects.
 

Duties and Responsibilities;

• Review the adequacy of existing systems of internal controls and procedures


• Provide advisory and consulting services to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and utilization of company assets


• Prepare budget plans for the department


• Prepare audit working papers in accordance with standards and requirements


• Oversee management compliance with agreed resolutions and set policies, existing internal controls and continuously recommend achieving operating conditions.


• Maintaining the database of prior audit recommendations and coordinating the follow-up by internal audit personnel to validate resolution of the issues


• Independent investigation of key areas of concern that arise


• Implement internal audit policies and guidelines


• Develop, execute and continuously evaluate comprehensive risk-based audit plan on operational, financial processes and effectiveness of internal controls


• Conduct audit assignments as may be assigned by the Internal Auditor


• Check and inspect the accuracy of accounts receivable and payable ledgers


• Build internal capability through periodic training workshops to promote awareness on internal controls and compliance


• Ascertain extent of compliance with legislation, regulations and policies


• Analyze and evaluate the accuracy of accounting systems and procedures


• Providing leadership ensuring, employee development, employee engagement and performance management to deliver results


• Provide assistance to External Auditors as required

Qualifications and Skills;

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in internal audit, public accounting or related business experience


• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or any other relevant discipline


• Ability to multi-task and work on various audits and projects in different phases


• Ability to make good judgments based upon observations and supporting information


• Familiar with computer aided audit techniques


• Membership of professional body will be an added advantage.


• A team player and high-level interpersonal skills


• Must be willing to work in Mombasa
