WWF- The global conservation

organization, Kenya, is seeking to recruit a:
 


(To be based in Nairobi)
 


The GIS & Modelling Expert will

be responsible for Geospatial Data Modeling, analytics and management

programmes as well as to build and manage a centralised Knowledge Management

Database within the WWF-Kenya.
 

The incumbent will have the following

key roles:

  • Detailed understanding of either proposed,

    planned and/or ongoing major developments going on at the continent;

  • Proactively reach out to WWF offices in Africa

    and other partners to assess and determine the type of decision support

    tools required to inform such developments;

  • Apply an integrated/holistic/multivariate

    approach in Modeling geospatial and statistical data to different

    visualization frameworks;

  • Undertaking analysis of developments along

    Integrated Resource Corridors;

  • Identify relevant indicators to monitor

    WWF-Kenya work related to spatial/land use planning;

  • Assessing viability and consistency of the

    information gathered and converting such information into valuable models;

  • Review the current situation of land use

    planning in WWF Kenya’s conservation areas and identify key entry points

    for its development and implementation;

  • Identifying international case studies of

    merit with their key success factors to inform spatial/land use planning

    work in Kenya and the region;

  • Influence preparation and implementation of

    County spatial plans in Kenya;

  • Publish papers of public and scientific

    relevance and interest in peer reviewed journals;

  • Other duties as may be identified and

    assigned.


The prospective candidate should

possess:

  • An advanced degree in Computing, Analytics,

    Statistics, Climatology or Geospatial sciences.

  • Five (5) years’ experience in Computer

    Modeling, scenario planning and statistics and probability, three of which

    must be at Climate Change Modeling;

  • Proven production of decision support tools

    for development using an integrated approach;

  • Demonstrable experience of successful advocacy

    with a range of stakeholders in a spatial/land-use planning context;

  • Established experience of influencing

    development of spatial/land-use plans and/or policies;

  • Experience in developing and designing

    effective baseline information systems;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Kenya’s natural

    resource sector;

Information Management Officer
 


(To be based in Nairobi)
 


The Information Management Officer

will be responsible for implementing WWF-Kenya’s Information Management

strategy; to customize applications and systems to user needs, to analyze and

disseminate information effectively across Offices.



The incumbent will have the following key roles:

  • Customize WWF-Kenya’s data and information

    visualization platforms;

  • Participates in data management improvement

    projects;


  • Identify new information and data requirements

    to support operations and partners in the region;

  • Design and implement a structured

    dissemination plan for all information products and services as

    appropriate;

  • Conducts outreach to internal and external

    data entities to develop partnerships and data sharing relationships;

  • Research innovative methods and techniques for

    analysing and visualizing data in support of reporting;

  • Evaluates adequacy of existing data tools and

    Implements new technologies in information management;

  • Develops training materials and user manuals;

    trains staff in use of data management systems;

  • Assists in geospatial & statistical data

    mobilization from different data centres & institutions;

  • Supports the promotion of data and information

    sharing within the conservation community;

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.


The prospective candidate should

possess:

  • Minimum University degree in Information

    Technology, Computer Science, Geospatial Sciences or a related field;

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant job experience

    in information management;

  • Proven computer programming and applications

    development skills;

  • Proven statistical, analytical and technical

    skills, with the ability to logically present information;

  • Monitoring and evaluation skills specific to

    natural resource management or related areas;

  • Project Planning, management, and

    organizational skills.

Design and Impact Officer


 
(To be based in Nairobi)



The Design and Impact Officer will be responsible for implementing WWF Kenya

Strategic Plan’s Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) framework with

particular focus on management of the MEL information system.
 


The incumbent will have the following

key roles:

  • Assists in developing an effective MEL

    guidelines and reporting systems;

  • Supports the rollout and implementation of WWF

    Kenya’s information management system;

  • Supports WWF Kenya field offices and

    sub-grantees to implement mobile data collection;

  • Participates in the development and review of

    the theories of change, results chain and budget indicators;

  • Carries out regular M&E audits, monitors

    implementation and progress;

  • Ensures compliance of all programmes and

    projects initiatives with established M&E protocols, Network

    standards, policy frameworks and best practices;

  • Compiles and report data for key programmatic

    output, outcome, and impact indicators;

  • Builds support for acceptance and

    implementation of MEL framework, tools and practices;

  • Builds the capacity of WWF Kenya’s staff in

    implementation of the WWF Kenya M&E framework and the WWF Network

    standards;

  • Undertakes training and capacity building of

    the sub-grantees;

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.


The prospective candidate should

possess:

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Management or

    relevant quantitative disciplines;

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in design and

    implementation of M&E and information management systems;

  • Data management, analysis, project planning

    and reporting skills;

  • Evaluation and research skills;

  • Monitoring and evaluation skills specific to

    natural resource management or related areas;

  • Experience in establishing knowledge

    management systems in the NGO sector;

  • Experience in establishing and implementing

    accountability and compliance mechanisms;

  • Training and capacity-building skills.
