Our client is in the Motor Cycle assembly business with an established factory in Nairobi.
They are looking for an experienced and individual to fill in the position of Quality Control Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, test, and sample materials, parts, or products for defects and any deviations from specifications.
- Run the motorbike on a testing bench or lane and record test results in the quality control document. Take necessary action on product that does not conform to the set standards.
- Perform dynamic testing of the finished motorcycles
- Confirm torque values meet the quality standards and also follows the torque marking procedure.
- Manage the storage of finished goods in the segregated area.
- Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products, and recommend necessary corrective actions.
- Coordinate raw materials QC checks and analysis to ensure they meet the conformity quality standards and communicate to the stakeholders effectively.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process, observing control check points, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points, initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.
- Inspect, test, and sample materials or assembled parts or products for defects and deviations from specifications.
- Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and make or order necessary process or assembly adjustments.
- Manage the process of calibration of Production and service tools at KEBS meteorological lab.
Desired Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering or technical college Diploma is preferred.
- Ability to learn and work closely a cross functional team
- Should possess excellent computer skills.
- Ability to interpret quality gates, control plan and any other quality documents
- Ability to learn and work closely a cross functional team.
- Previous experience carrying out the duties and responsibilities of an inspector in an automotive assembly plant is desired.
- Experience in riding motor cycles is preferred but not mandatory, successful candidate should be willing to be trained and acquire a motor bike driving license
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively when reporting issues and defects is necessary.
- Experience with measuring tools is required, candidate should be able to work under pressure.
