a program coordinator and trainer in the field of water sanitation and
hygiene.**
IsraAID, an Israel-based
non-governmental humanitarian aid agency, is looking for a motivated and
flexible project coordinatorWASH Facilitator to assist in the management and
implementation of a water, and sanitation and hygiene training program in
Kakuma refugee camp, in Kenya.
The position offers an exciting opportunity to get hands-on and management
experience in non-profit project management in Africa and lead innovative
grass-roots activities in the field.
The job requires relocation to Kakuma, Kenya.
Minimum qualifications, skills and experience:
- Advanced educational background in science
and/or water / environmental / agricultural engineering / Water technician
diploma. - Be legally employable in Kenya.
- Proven experience in teaching/facilitation
- Knowledge and skills in a water quality
laboratory - Excellent English, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal and team skills,
management experience preferred.
Preferred qualifications, skills and
experience:
- Flexible and positive attitude
- Experience working in non-profit
organizations. - Experience working in the international
sphere. - Experience with teaching and/ or training.
- Experience working in the water industry, arid
areas preferable - Comfortable living and working in hardship
areas
Reporting to the WASH Program Manager
and Field Office Coordinator, the position includes but is not limited to:
- Coordinating the implementation of training
programs in the field of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in and
around a refugee camp in Kenya in tandem with IsraAID’s Kakuma WASH
Program Manager, Programs Director and Kenya Country Director. - Supervising and driving development of
IsraAID’s Introduction to WaMTech Training Program. - Teaching Introduction to WaMTech, as needed.
- Teaching Advanced WaMTech, as needed.
- Assisting with logistics associated with
Advanced WaMTech classes and Intensive Training courses. - Leading procurement for and certification of
IsraAID’s water laboratory - Supervising IsraAID’s water quality testing
laboratory. - Supervising IsraAID’s hygiene promotion teams
Community Outreach activities. - Participating in and supervising day to day
WASH program activities and operations. - Development of technical training programs.
- Implementing training programs in
collaboration with local staff. - Managing logistics, coordinating supply
inventory, and general administration of a technical training project. - Representing IsraAID at meetings with
government, community members, NGOs and the UN. - Monitoring, evaluation and reporting on all
IsraAID WASH projects. - Following training period, In-job training to
take over the long-term WaMTech Program.taking on the responsibilities of
the WASH Program Manager in Kakuma including leading WaMTech courses and
partnerships. - Step into leading new WASH projects and
partnerships as they arise in the course of the contract.
- Relocating to Kakuma refugee camp, Kenya.
- IsraAID will cover living expenses while in
Kakuma including, accommodation stipend, medical expenses related to the
employment and meals. - 5.5 working days weekly. 5 days off (R&R)
every 8 weeks. - 12 month contract, with a 3 month probationary
period. - This is a paid position.
