TVET Funding Board Chairperson Job in Kenya - 2015

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Funding Board is established under section 48 (I) of the TVET Act No. 29 of 2013. 

The main function of the Board shall be to manage the TVET Fund whose object and purpose is to finance technical and vocation education institutions. 

For that purpose the Board shall disburse funds to institutions in accordance with criteria prescribed by the Cabinet Secretary, taking into account the respective institution’s output, efficiency and role in areas prioritized by the Government; in consultation with the institutions, establish the maximum differentiated unit cost for the programmes offered and discipline differentiated remuneration for academic staff and advise the Government accordingly; and provide advice on disbursement criteria for the Fund utilization.

 

The Selection Panel invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following non – executive position in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Funding Board:

Requirements for appointment
 

A person shall be qualified for appointment as the Chairperson for the Board if such person:

1. Is a citizen of Kenya;


2. Holds a Bachelors degree in Education or Engineering or Technology or Applied Science or any other relevant TVET area from a university recognized in Kenya;


3. Is a holder of Masters degree in Business Administration;


4. Has knowledge and demonstrate experience in matters relating to resource mobilization;


5. Has at least five years’ experience in Technical and Vocational Education and Training;


6. Has had a distinguished career of twelve years in their respective fields, and


7. Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution

A. A person shall not be qualified for appointment as the Chairperson if such a person is:-

1. A member of either National Assembly or County Assembly


2. Declared bankrupt, or


3. Removed from office for contravening the provisions of the constitution or any other written law

B. Applicants should attach copies of clearance certificates from;

1. The Kenya Revenue Authority;


2. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission;


3. Criminal Investigations Department;


4. Credit Reference Bureau;


5. Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), and


6. Commission for University Education if the degree ¡s from a foreign university
