Our client The Brooke East Africa is an animal welfare charity whose mission is to improve the welfare of working donkeys, horses and mules.


The Brooke currently seeks to recruit a Resource mobilisation and partnership Manager for a 6 months national appointment.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
 


Resource Mobilisation


  • Develop and implement resource mobilisation strategy and mobilise resources both in cash and in kind.

  • Support and monitor the Brooke’s restricted funding projects by leading preparation of good quality concept notes; develop attractive funding proposals and communicating changes and updates.

  • Co-ordinate with the finance department, to ensure funds are allocated to specific projects as agreed, and financial reports detail restricted funds expenditure

  • Contribute suggestions and participate in reviews to help improve the funding process and the provision of engaging case studies, images and information to the UK Fundraising and Communications department.

  • Implement excellent stewardship of funding relationships to build long-term funding support

  • Be a point of contact between the Brooke’s UK fundraising team and Brooke EA staff for all queries relating to restricted funding projects and processes and carry out other duties relevant to the restricted funding process.

Coordination, Communication and Support to Fundraising


  • Manage and deliver communications strategy for Brooke EA.

  • Coordinate the inter-related efforts of the resource mobilization team to ensure a streamlined and efficient approach to building strategic partnerships for mobilizing financial resources.

  • Contribute to the development of, compliance with, and monitoring of fundraising protocols and procedures between Brooke UK and Brooke regional office

  • Meet agreed income targets and be responsible for fundraising and communications budget as well as prepare and make the fundraising case with potential and existing funders.

  • Review research of funders, and identify further local fundraising sources and prepare funding prospect action lists, and develop cultivation plans for funding prospects in-country, and comply with Brooke fundraising protocols.

Partnership and Public Relations Management


  • Identify relevant partners as well as both corporate and individual donors, and influence the debate towards more effective and efficient support for animal welfare.

  • Determine the partnerships landscape to ensure optimal win-win partnerships in regard to animal welfare, including identifying and mobilizing key strategic partnerships to enhance impact and influence for Brooke’s strategic priorities;

  • Maintain long-term relationships with donors and partners; network with numerous channels to build a reputation for the Brooke EA that will resonate with key donors and potential funders

  • Be responsible for managing reputation, publicity, appropriate public relations and marketing to maintain and enhance the Brooke East Africa image and visibility

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of Brooke EA activities in order to be able to explain these in a compelling way in writing to donors and partners and manage events and organisational identity to ensure that Brooke EA is correctly represented at different forums.
