Job Description
- Timely and accurate processing of the monthly payroll
- Timely and accurate processing of the monthly payroll journals
- Timely and accurate submission of all statutory deductions such as PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, HELB and other deductions
- Maintain accurate records of all monthly uploads
- Respond to frequent requests for information, reports, employment verifications, audit requests and reconciliation etc
- Timely and accurate update of payroll records for staff advances/deductions, leavers and joiners
- Preparation of statutory returns and ensuring compliance to all monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, payments and submission deadlines
- Safe custody of all payroll records
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration or related discipline with at least 4 years work experience in finance and payroll accounting
- CPA or ACCA
- Excellent awareness of statutory compliance issues in Kenya and general awareness of labour law and practices
- Strong excel/data analysis and manipulation skills
- Experience with iTAX

Skills and Attributes
- High integrity with natural ability to maintain confidentiality and presence of mind when handling payroll and staff matters
- Good spoken and written English language skills
- Ability to undertake multiple tasks of an engagement gaining management and supervisory skills
- Have demonstrable enthusiasm, drive and initiative
- Be a team player, capable of coaching and developing payroll staff
- Hands on experience with integrated accounting/payroll packages
- Attention to details and comfortable with large data sets
