Kenyatta University seeks to recruit an Occupational Safety & Health Officer to advice on, maintain and protect health standards that touch on Occupational Safety & Health among the University Community in their work environment.
Qualifications For Occupational Safety & Health Officer Jobs In Kenya
- Bachelor Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or Risk Management
- Alternative qualifications in Engineering, Construction, Business Management or Law will be an added advantage
- At least three (3) years relevant post qualification experience in a busy institution or company
Occupational Safety & Health Officer Job Responsibilities In Kenya
- Investigating/recording incidents, accidents, complaints and cases of ill health
- Undertaking risk assessment and site inspections
- Ensuring that equipment is installed correctly/safely
- Identifying potential hazards
- Determining ways of reducing risks
- Writing internal Health and Safety policies/strategies
- Compiling statistics
- Drawing upon safe operational practices and making necessary changes
- Writing reports
- Ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation
- Conducting training sessions for Supervisors and workers on health safety practice and legislation
- Coordinate emergency procedures, rescue and first aid
