Job Brief: We are looking to recruit a qualified individual to fill the position of Executive Chef. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for and provide leadership to the day to day operations of all the food production in the restaurant and lounge.

 

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in the development and implementation of appropriate strategies to enhance the profitability of the business


• Recruit, select and develop team members.


• Direct functions and performance of all the kitchen staff.


• Maintain and develop organisational culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory bodies.


• Report to the board on organisational plans and performance.


• Set operational procedures, policies, and standards as pertains to food production and presentation.


• Review activity reports and food costs to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with changing conditions.


• Evaluate performance of food production team for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives.


• Train members of the food production team to attain competence and specialty in food production especially in sea food.

Requirements

• Training in Food Production.


• At least 10 years’ experience at Sous-Chef level or 5 years’ experience at Executive Chef Level.


• Experience in food costs planning and execution and kitchen management.


• An innovative food expert able to meet changing trends in various cuisines.


• High levels of energy, integrity, self motivation, focus and ambition to succeed.


• Information technology skills.


• Exemplary leadership, management and interpersonal skills.
