Vacancy: Security Advisor
Saferworld is an independent non – governmental organisation that works to prevent and reduce violent conflict and promote cooperative approaches to security.

The purpose of the Security Advisor role is to support the Horn of Africa country teams and programs to provide a safe and secure working environment and mitigation for security threats in the operating environment by providing relevant and current security and contextual advice to the Horn of Africa management.
The Security Advisor will ensure that all Saferworld Staff and partners are aware of the security risks in their operating environment, support in setting up appropriate security systems, and will provide tailored training and briefings for the Kenya, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda contexts.
The desirable candidate should be a security professional with a proven management experience within the security industry, NGO or donor community.
The person should have a sound working knowledge of security best practice, a good understanding of current security context of the areas where Saferworld engages in Africa and be able to establish networks in the security environment where Saferworld works.
