Job Description
Resource Mobilization Officer for Rescue Dada CentreRescue Dada Centre transforms the lives of street girls and their families. Based in Nairobi, in the last 10 years, Rescue Dada has perfected a RRR model based on ‘Rescue – Rehabilitation and Reintegration’ of the girls into family based care in its child care protection programme.
The complimentary empowerment programme works with guardians of the girls and street families and in particular mothers. Founded in 1992, this successful charitable childrens’ institute is implementing its new 4 year strategic plan ( 2016-2019) and would like to both diversify it’s base of income support and develop increasing financial sustainability through a number of measures.
Reporting to the project coordinator, the energetic outgoing resource mobilisation officer would be motivated by a commitment to Rescue Dada’s higher purpose.
Focus of the work
- Map out the broader donor community and meet – network with those who may be able to provide assistance
- Develop and present well thought out targeted attractive project proposals
- Constantly improve on Rescue Dada’s communication channels and materials
- As part of the management team contribute to the thinking on measures to be taken to become increasingly self reliant through in-house income generation projects and other means
- Assist with getting the new residential facility up and running on financial sustainability
Requirements for the job
- Experience in fund raising and mobilizing resources
- Commitment to the work based on an understanding of Rescue Dada’s purpose and mission
- Outgoing ‘self starter’ personality who can excite people about the project’s work and achievements
- Problem solving skills based on an ability to use facts and logic combined with a dash of more creative ‘out of the box’ thinking
- Strong organizing ability combined with polished interpersonal and communication skills
- Conscientious and absolute integrity
- Fully computer literate in this social media world
Remuneration: Salary would be in the range of KSh 30,000 per month and medical insurance package would be provided.
