Job Title: Business Development Officer
Industry: Health and Sanitation
Location: Nairobi
Salary: 40K – 50K plus commissions
Our client is a leading sanitation-services provider who partners with NGOs and the private sector to enhance the quality of life.
They seek to hire a Business Development Officer who will be responsible for building, training and leading a sales team for the company.
The person will also be is accountable for achieving sales targets, as agreed upon with the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit and train sales people. Make hiring decisions and recommendations designed to enhance the sales effort.
- Develop strategies for penetrating the short term and long term rental markets in the Nairobi area.
- Make personal sales and, over time, hand off important accounts to sales team.
- Foster a culture of excellence among the sales staff with a focus on the three key differentiators enjoyed by the organization;
- Cleanliness of units and service oriented approach of team
- Profits support education of Kenya’s children
- Equipment is state of the art
- Support efforts to achieve the goal of becoming the number one provider of sanitation services in Nairobi.
- Manage budget for sales efforts.
- Liaise with other leaders to coordinate sales and marketing, pricing and operations
Skills and Qualifications Desired
- Bachelor’s Degree in sales / Marketing or a related field.
- At least 2 years experience with B2B sales in Nairobi
- Experience in leadership, must demonstrate capacity to build a team.
- Self-starter and interpersonally effective.
