Our client operates Quick Service Restaurants in East Africa. 



They take pride in offering great service levels and aim to meet the needs of their customers with excellence at all times. They are rapidly expanding their foot print within East Africa.



In this regard, we seek applications for a senior post of Group Managing Director who will be responsible and accountable to the Board of Directors for the establishment and overall management and performance of the business in East Africa.
 



The role entails development of the Company’s strategic plan, formulation and implementation of all company policies and procedures in areas of operations, human resources management, finance, supply chain, marketing etc.
 



More specifically, the Group MD will also be responsible for:



Successful candidates will meet the following criteria:


  • A business related qualification e.g.in sales, marketing, operations or business management;

  • Over 25 years’ experience in Quick Service Restaurant management, 10 of which must be at senior management level preferably in business development or sales;

  • Experienced in operating a Franchise business in the hospitality industry

  • Excellent communication, high impact presentation, negotiation and persuasion skills;

  • Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial with an intense desire to grow the business succeed and to dedicate the time required to ensure the business is operational and profitable;

  • The ability to successfully execute multiple work streams at the same time whilst maintaining focus on the bigger picture;

  • Experience in multi-cultural environments, preferably having worked in multiple countries in Africa;

  • Strong relationship building skills preferably with well-established business networks or relationships within relevant industries and other stakeholders;

  • Strong problem analysis, judgment and decision making skills to deal with issues that arise in a growing business;

  • A strategic thinker with ability to conceptualize plans, plan activities and deliver on planned targets/objectives;

  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, ‘can do’ attitude – very goal orientated;

  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout East Africa.
