Job Description
Our client, a company running a customer loyalty programme is recruiting for a Merchant Manager.
Salary: 40K – 50K
Job Profile: Responsible for signing up new merchants and increasing partnership base as well as the management of relationships with merchants and partners. You will approach potential merchants such as retails stores, airlines, cab service companies and hotels among others and sign them up in the programme to enable loyal customers redeem their earned points by accessing the services offered by selected merchants at discounts.
Location: Nairobi
The prospective employee will be expected to fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Spearheading proposals and pitching presentations to potential merchants partners
- Appoint partner merchants in Africa
- Handle key relationships with partner merchants for monetization of opportunities.
- Liaising with client merchants at a senior level on a day-to-day basis
- Promoting the expansion of business with existing client merchants
- Relationship management at Executive/Board level within existing and new partners
- Work with internal departments on contracts, renewals and upgrades of existing agreements.
Qualifications / Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Supply chain or related
- 2-3 year experience in business development and/or client relationship management
- A background in advertising, marketing or distribution an advantage
- Experience in presenting business proposals to senior management
- The ability to plan and strategize
- A persuasive and confident approach to sales
- Articulate with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Effective team management capabilities
- A keen attention to detail
- Excellent analytical skills to enable resolution of complex problems.
- Well groomed and presentable
- Willingness to travel when required
