Title: Irrigation Projects Supervisor
Department: Projects
Supervised by: Projects Manager
Role Objective / Summary: Providing Technical services to all the irrigation projects undertaken by the company
The Irrigation Projects Supervisor will be responsible for the following:
- Ensure that all irrigation projects handled by him will be implemented in accordance with the laid down Schedule, Cost, Quality, Risks and Scope leading to customer’s satisfaction.
- Coordination of site activities and plans as per agreed project plan with the Project Manager.
- Documenting Project activities while on site, sending reports to the Projects Manager and communicating with the client on a need basis.
- Supervising and mentoring all unskilled personnel working under him on site issues, HSE issues and ensuring smooth flow of work.
- Interpretation of technical drawings and manuals for projects allocated to him.
- Assist in Developing packing lists and irrigation kits quantities for different projects to ensure correct dispatch from stores and avoid over supply to projects.
- Assist Sales team in technical presentations and any technical issues in his areas of strength.
- Assist the project manager in Commissioning and handing over of all projects in conjunction with the other technical team members as and when required to.
- Ensure quality standards set by the department are adhered to on site which encompasses technical, HSE and other local regulatory requirements.
- Consistently update the Project Manager on site status and any required follow-ups with relevant departments.
- Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Project Manager in line with work requirements from time to time.
The successful candidate should have:
- A University degree or Higher National Diploma in Engineering disciplines.
- At least 3 years experience in Irrigation related Projects.
- Strong understanding of Technical Interpretations and Project requirements.
- Willingness to travel and work in a local, regional and global market set up.
- Proven leadership and ability to drive results and manage teams.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office( Excel,Word & PowerPoint and Outlook). Knowledge in MS Projects will be an added advantage.
- Posses excellent verbal and written communication skill to prepare proposals and tactfully and decisively manage external and internal clients, suppliers and other third-parties
- Driven and able to motivate others; providing creative and innovative solutions to internal and external clients
- Demonstrate high degree of responsibility, work ethics and integrity.
- Must hold a Valid class BCE driving license and competent to drive within and outside Nairobi especially in rough terrains.
- Ability to escalate any issue in good time for decision making
