Vacancies: Pursuant to the Constitution of Kenya 2010 (Articles 185 (2), 186(1) and 187(2) on distribution of functions between the National Government and the County Governments Act No. 17 of 2012; the Narok County Public Service Board invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions.
Chief Park Warden
Job Group ‘M’
2 Positions
Duties and Responsibilities
- Park Security
- Enforcement of Park Laws
- Preparation of park budges
- Liaison with other organization who are involved in game parks
Requirements for Appointments
For appointment to the grade an officer must:-
- Have served in the grade of Senior Warden for at least 3 years.
- Have shown considerable technical capability in practical park management and administration.
- Must have a Degree in wildlife Management. A Diploma in range Management will be an added advantage.
- Must have undergone paramilitary training.
Senior Warden
Job Group ‘L’
2 Position
Requirement for Appointment
- Have served in the grade of Warden I for at least 3 years
- Must have Bachelor Degree in either Environment, Physical or Biological Science
- Have shown considerable competence in Park ,Environment Management and Administration
- Have undergone paramilitary training
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deputize the Chief Forest /game warden
- Allocation of daily duties to officers below him
- Oversea general rangers administration and enforcement of park laws
Game Warden I
Job Group ‘K’
10 Positions
Requirement for Appointment
For Appointment for this grade an officer must:-
- Have served in the grade of Warden II for at least3 years
- Have shown consideration technical capability in practical park enforcement, Management and administration
- Have attained Higher Diploma in Wildlife /Environment management or it s equivalent.
- Have shown considerable ability in work performance.
- Have undergone through a paramilitary training.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deputize the Senior Warden
- Assist in the allocation of daily duties to officers.
Game Rangers / Forest Guards
Job Group ‘D’
120 Positions
Direct Appointment (Requirement)
- This is a direct appointment after certifying required minimum qualification of KCPE but KCSE will be an added advantage.
- Serving Game /Forest Guards will enter in this scheme.
Requirements
- Minimum KCPE but KCSE will be an added advantage.
- Be Physically fit
- Age between 18-25years
- Must be a resident of Narok County
- National Identity Card
- Should not have any Criminal Records
- Certificate of good conduct
- Women are encouraged to apply
