A State Corporation in the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries invites applications from qualified Kenyans for the following position:
ICT Support Technician
1 Position
Ref: VA/2/4/2015
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Infrastructure management and support. i.e. LAN, WAN, servers, firewall/virus protection, systems backups and telephone systems
- System administration for email services, servers, PCs, networks and business applications.
- Carry out regular or preventative maintenance as required.
- Undertake ICT projects as assigned.
- ICT support services to staff.
- Help desk administration.
Key Qualifications
- Degree in Information Technology or related field from a recognized University.
- Professional qualifications on CISCO, HP, and VMware would be an added advantage.
- Good system diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Computer networking skills (LAN, WAN, MPLS)
- Knowledge of Operating Systems (Windows, Linux).
- Conversant with virtualization technologies (VMware, XenServer).
- Knowledge of Database Management Systems (MSSQL, MYSQL).
