Job Title: Regional Medical and Occupational Head Lead

Summary: Our client is a manufacturer of some of the world’s leading foods, home and personal care products and has presence in Eastern and Southern Africa seeks to recruit a Regional Medical and Occupational Health Lead.


Main Job Purpose: To drive advancement in organisational MOH strategy by developing robust and structured Medical and occupational health Programmes to meet the business needs in the cluster and / or country. Key aspects of the role include; Internal/external scanning of new opportunities to develop and drive capabilities for medical and occupational health. Liaising with our regional and country teams to gauge best practice and input into new areas for development. Identifying the business’ medical and occupational health needs for the country or cluster , developing and deploying the MOH work plan Effective implementation of occupational health policies and the execution of the annual Occupational Health programs. Partner with the business in flawless execution the Regional and local Medical and Occupational Health programs Partner with Supply chain in leading the execution of the health protection agenda for the country/ region or cluster through deployment of the health risk assessments, ergonomic assessments, enzyme surveillance, control of MSDs, noise induced hearing loss and food handlers evaluations. Responsible for the execution of the Health promotion programs i.e lamplighter, promote mental and physical well being, HIV & AIDs program and counselling on lifestyle diseases Ensure implementation of company defined policies, procedures, programs and systems allowing the unit/Department to meet the company commitment on Occupational Health, Safety environment care and consumer safety is being carried out at a country and regional level. Ensure sites doctors and M&OH staff are Proactively identifying hazards or environmental aspects and administering effective safeguards aiming at eliminating/reduction of accidents or incidents Is accountable for the delivery of the Onsite medical services and has overall responsibility for the implementation of the end to end M&OH agenda across the cluster/ country region Lead the development of the workplace health culture.Bachelor of Medicine and Master of Surgery Degree or equivalent level Professional Qualification in Medical and Occupational Health and/ or Public Health10 - 12 Years experience in Medical and Occupational Health practice or management of public health Project Management experience in a large multi-national organization is desirable Business accumenPossess Business Administration qualification Knowledge and experience in FMCG is desirableIn this role the candidate will be in contact with:Global VP; Medical and Occupational Health, Regional M&OH leaders and Site physicians.
