DSW (Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevoelkerung) is an international development and advocacy organization with its headquarters in Hannover, liaison offices in Berlin and Brussels as well as country offices in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
Our main goal is to help people free themselves from poverty. For this purpose we support integrated programs in sexual reproductive health and rights focusing on youth empowerment, advocacy, and capacity building of local partners. With support from the European Union, DSW and WOFAK are implementing the project “Together for mothers and children - Strengthening health Delivery in informal Settlements” aimed at contributing to the improvement of key MDG 4 and 5 indicators in Mombasa County by improving access to comprehensive health services, information and supplies to women of reproductive age living in the informal settlements of Bangladesh and Maweni.
This assessment will address current information gaps, map key stakeholder groups and interests, and identify potential synergies with other on-going initiatives in the target areas. Importantly, the baseline assessment will also help determine the specific capacities and needs of health facilities and health workers serving each settlement that will be targeted. The study findings will guide programming decisions as well as serve as a benchmark for measuring progress and changes over time.
Consultancy Purpose: DSW is therefore seeking services of a consultant to design the study, collect and analyse data and compile a report that will inform project implementation as well as provide baseline information that will be used to measure progress made towards attaining the project objectives.
