LEGAL DOCUMENTATION MANAGER

Reporting to Head, Securities & Documentation Centre, the Legal Documentation Manager – Retail, will provide legal support on loan documentation for retail facilities, manage the documentation process and ensure compliance on collateral conditions prior to disbursement of these facilities.Provide a central point of reference, support and advice on retail legal documentation.Manage issuance and processing of offer letters upon receipt of duly approved credit papers observing agreed timelines and high standards of accuracy and within applicable law, bank policies and regulations.Manage conveyancing and loan documentation activities, end-to-end ensuring effective support to the retail branches at every stage of documentationManaging vetting  and/or review all security documents for completeness, clarity and ensure that all legal risks are adequately coveredLiaise with external lawyers and other service providers on security documentation process and ensure that security documents and other conditions have been perfected/ completed prior to drawdown of facilitiesManage Issuance of  Compliance Certificates for purposes of disbursement of loan facilitiesEnsure MIS maintenance with respect to TAT, exceptions, security movement and others as may be required for tracking of documents and performance and exceptions.Coordinate and provide training to the retail business team on legal issues pertaining security instruments and protection of the sameSupervise and motivate all staff within the retail section of the departmentMonitoring changes/ reviews in Law and Case law to ensure that the Bank’s security documents are up to date and comply with those changes/ reviews.For the above position, the successful applicants should have:University degree in Law from a recognized University; Post Graduate Diploma in Law.Legal practicing license is requiredMasters of Law or Master’s Degree is added advantage5 years’ experience in Legal Practice; 4 of which must have been experience acquired Post Admission to the Bar.2 years’ experience in Credit and legal documentationTeam leadership skills.Persuasive oral and written communication skillsGreat Interpersonal skillsStrong Relationship Management skillsCommercial awarenessGood leadership and planning skillsThe above position is demanding for which the bank will provide a competitive package for the successful candidates.  If you believe you can clearly demonstrate your abilities to meet the criteria given above, please submit your application with a detailed CV, stating your current position, remuneration level e-mail and telephone contacts quoting the job title/reference in the subject field to recruitment@kcb.co.keTo be considered your application must be received by Nov. 14, 2014.Only short listed candidates will be contacted.
