Hotel Overview: Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel has played a leading role in Kenya’s colorful history, and continues to be Nairobi’s finest and best-known luxury hotel. The town and later the modern city of Nairobi grew up around Fairmont The Norfolk hotel, which boasts 165 guest rooms and suites, and still has its own private tropical gardens. The hotel is still the traditional starting point for safaris and the Lord Delamere Terrace is modern Nairobi’s most famous meeting place, where drinks and light meals are served continuously from morning until midnight.
Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Public Area Supervisor, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging serviceClean assigned public areas throughout hotelEmpty trash in all public areas and clean public area restroomsClean all mirrors, inside of windows, wipe and dust all surfaces; keeping all brass shinyVacuum carpets where neededFollow departmental policies, procedures and service standardsReport necessary maintenance itemsFollow all safety and sanitation policiesOther duties as assigned* *Qualifications:
Previous housekeeping experience an assetExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesHighly responsible & reliableAbility to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervisionAbility to work well under pressure in a fast paced environmentAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesPhysical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
Constant standing and walking throughout shiftFrequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbsFrequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingOccasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and rampsVisa Requirements: Candidate must be a Kenyan Citizen
