The Pragma Corporation, a US based private international development consulting firm, is seeking for Chief of Party candidates for an upcoming USAID-funded RFP entitled “East Africa Trade and Investment Hub (TIH)”. The project’s goal will be to spur transformational economic growth in East Africa, including through trade and investment, by promoting regional integration and trade; expanding African capacity to effectively access and benefit from global markets; and encouraging U.S. companies to trade with and invest in Africa, excluding oil and extractive industries. TIC success will witness increased intra-regional and international trade resulting in economic growth that contributes to poverty reduction, strengthens the region’s resilience, and reinforces regional integration.
Required Qualications:
Minimum Master’s degree required, Ph.D. preferred in economics, international trade, trade policy, investment or finance, business administration, international relations or relevant technology area;At least 10 years of relevant experience, eight of which shall be in developing countries, preferably in East Africa;At least 5 years of experience managing and coordinating complex development programs in Africa;Experience as a Chief of Party or significant management responsibilities for a program of comparable complexity;Previous experience serving in an advisory capacity to high level government officials on trade, economic policy, technology, or competitiveness;Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with institutional and private sector partners and stakeholders in a multi-country setting;Ability to use the latest ICT technology and computer software programs; andLevel IV equivalent of English writing, speaking, and reading ability (French language competence would be valuable.)How to ApplyIf interested and qualified for a position, please send your resume to: Jennifer Lao at jlao@pragmacorp.com or Yetnayet Zewdie Demissie at ydemissie@pragmacorp.com Please include “Chief of Party” in the subject line of your email.
