Role: Provide materials, equipment, and supplies by ensuring that the purchasing is done in good time as per when required
Duties:
Develop and put in place prudent purchasing policies and procedures.Be overall in-charge of the whole purchasing processBe conversant with the procurement procedures of the company and adhere to them at all timesReceive purchasing requests from the relevant departments and ensure that the requests are handled in good time not to delay the manufacturing processSource for quotations from different suppliers and together with the other departmental heads, make a purchasing decisionsCome up with the list of prequalified suppliers through a transparent system and as per the company policiesIn-charge of recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees in the purchasing department.Responsible for coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees in the departmentSafeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocolsComply with laws and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Overall in charge of go down, go down security and dispatchKey Qualifications / ExperienceUniversity degree in a business related fieldDiploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management from a reputable institution.Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.Relevant experience in a manufacturing companyStrong organizational skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.Flexibility in performing tasks according to changing priorities; yet able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently but as part of the team.Interpersonal skillsOral &written communicationCustomer serviceComputer appreciation: MS Word, Excel, Power-Point,ProactiveConflict managementOrganization and coordinationDirecting skillsNB: Qualified candidates only should send in their cvs to frank.vacancies@yahoo.com
