East Africa Condom Category Manager

East Africa is one of our largest and most impactful regions comprising 11 countries and impacting millions of lives every year. In the region we have 10+ condom brands and almost all are the category leaders and therefore have a huge impact on the battle against HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases. The more sales of our condom brands the more lives we save.
What You Will Do:
• The position is for the condom category manager for East Africa to take our condom brands to the next level in marketing and create even greater health impact in the region.
• You will instill advanced FMCG and social marketing discipline thereby raising the bar on our marketing for our condom brands.
• You will identify and act on economies of scale through the marketing of our condom brands across all elements of the supply chain including distribution, sales, packaging, branding elements, procurement, and promotions.
• You will develop, implement and manage the execution of a robust, insight-based regional condom business plan viathe evaluation of the region’s economies, markets and competitorscompilation of a regional commercial business plan which utilizes existing commercial opportunities and
synergies and might even create new opportunitiesConstruction of a purpose-built business architecture, through the recruitment of the required commercial skills and resources coupled with the implementation of the necessary systems, processes and measurements.You will develop regional business strategies which would allow us to have the right people and systems in the core areas of marketing, sales, supply chain and finance
• You will catalyze an evolution of our sales and distribution to a more efficient and impactful level
•A significant amount of travel is involved in the region as you will be working with each of our individual country offices.
What We Need:Street Cred.You have a proven track record in FMCG or pharmaceuticals regional or global brands. You have had great business results with best in class marketing. You have experience across the supply chain
and have operated in senior levels where you have been able to create results via your vision and direction on execution. You have experience with sales operations and shopper marketing. Experience in products/services that required consumer behavior change preferred.
Passion for Marketing. You bring passion to the marketing function in the region and inspire others to raise
the bar on their marketing.
Leader. You have proven ability to obtain buy-in from multiple stakeholders and create change.
Developing Markets .You have experience working or doing business in developing markets where getting things done requires ingenuity, patience, and great problem solving skills. Experience in sub-Saharan Africa highly preferred.
Language. English fluency a must. French or Portugese -- great if you have these skills.
Curious and Flexible. You’re an information sponge and understand what worked yesterday won’t necessarily work today (or tomorrow), that each context is different. You have an ability to adapt quickly to these changing environments.
Desire to Make the World a Better Place. You have a passion to create change in the world and believe in providing better health solutions to the poor. You might not have been able to do this in your career “to date” but this is a goal in your life.
