Driver Instructor Job in Kenya

Company Profile: We are a driver training institution specializing in defensive driving and professional driver skills development. We offer training on fleet management, guidance about safety on the roads and quality driving instruction.
 Job Purpose: Successful candidates will provide both classroom and practical training and assessments to an international workforce with varying levels of ability and working in a variety of locations, climatic conditions and terrain.
 Duties and Responsibilities

Preparing participants to drive vehicles in a safe and economical mannerInforming students about the maintenance of the vehicles.Being a guide to the student, answering questions and reacting to situations that will arise on the road.Increasing the student’s Highway Code awareness.Ensuring that students are aware of using the road and the responsibilities that that entails.Maintaining the car and making sure that it is safe.Organizing lessons and rearranging times.Attracting new business, perhaps through networking.Prepares training schedules and identifying students’ training needs.Setting up classrooms behind the wheel training service and refresher training for new and experienced drivers as directedMaintain students training records.Assessing drivers prior to placement.Preparing students for emergency situations.Advising students when they are ready to undergo driving examination.Advising on and teaching advanced driving techniques required for emergency situations illustrating and explaining handling and mechanical operation of motor vehicles and driving techniques using blackboard diagrams and audiovisual aidsQualifications and Competencies:-Minimum of ‘O’ level educationComputers literacy –use of power point and excel spreadsheetsTechnical college training in automotive engineering will be an added advantage.Driving instructor’s license.Articulated commercial vehicle driving licence.Qualified driver with five (5) years tractor/trailer over the road driving experience.Instructional experience is desirable.Ability to counsel and instruct students in a professional manner.Having basic knowledge about car mechanics.Having knowledge about the Highway Code and road rules.This position is on full time basis.
