Job Title: Research Micro-Loan Manager
Location: Based in Korogocho Slums
Company Profile: UJAMAA – Africa is an NGO based in Korogocho, founded with the aim of promoting health, personal safety and economic empowerment to vulnerable women and children.
UJAMAA’s economic empowerment arm – UJAMAA MASHINANI( a micro-loan), seeks to change its previous approach of lending small startup loans, to establishing a well thought out innovation owned by the people, for the people in form of a village bank.We are seeking an individual, with a passion based on the principles of Women Economic Empowerment and a system that will open doors, and create opportunities for a research based economic empowerment which will ultimately improve and transform livelihoods.
The primary responsibility is to manage Micro loan research programs.Promote and market UJAMAA MASHINANI to various stakeholders with potential for expansion.Exploring the impact of Women Economic Empowerment and its ability to decrease the frequency and severity of domestic violence. Develop strategy and work plans for UJAMAA Mashinani’s research programs, in consultation with UJAMAA – Africa executive management. Develop evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of UJAMAA Mashinani, with expansion into other slums in considerationBe responsible for assuring UJAMAA MASHINANI’s full integration with other activities of the organization, especially to identify and implement cross-strengthening activities in regards to microfinance and village banking.Be responsible for developing, maintaining and strengthening relationships with UJAMAA – Africa donors, the community, relevant international and domestic financial institutions and/or Ministries.Supervise staff involved in monitoring and evaluation in the department going by the guidelines set up by Ujamaa MashinaniExcellent information and management skills.Must possess minimum 3 years working experience management or similar role.Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with excellent organization and planning.Knowledge of business development concepts and a mind tuned into innovative concepts.Strong research experiencesKnowledge and ability to understand and execute management functions, financial and accounting policies, rules and procedures. Experience working in development sector in Administration and Finance management (Preferably in Micro Finance).Ability to prioritize and handle a diverse and heavy workload, working under pressure and strict adherence to tight deadlines.Strong IT skillsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Research, Commerce, Finance and Accounting or Management – a Master’s degree in any Business Management related field, would be an added advantage.Candidates with Research experience in a business field are highly encouraged to apply.To apply send your detailed, updated resume and application letter, to humanresource@ujamaa-africa.org
