Job Purpose: The MD shall exercise overall control and supervision of all activities of the Bank
Reporting: The MD shall be responsible for the management of the bank and shall exercise overall control.
The MD shall, in all his actions be responsible and accountable to the Board of Directors and subject to the general laws and other legal provisions of the country. Profile: The position will be responsible for the growth and management of the Bank including corporate and retail banking, trade finance, treasury, marketing and operations.The successful candidate will also provide strategic leadership to service delivery and support teams at the bank and ensure the overall business meets its commitments to the market in an efficient, cost effective and controlled manner and deliver a superb experience for customers. The incumbent being at the top management position in the bank, will work towards charting the blueprint of policies, and implement them for the growth of the bank. He will be in charge of scrutinizing, assessing and monitoring various departments and in charge of all head of departments.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelopment of the overall business strategy covering customer segment strategy, business modeling cost and Risk management.Implementing the Board’s policy decisions in a result oriented and timely manner to achieve the Bank’s vision, mission, goals, objectives and agreed performance targetsMonitoring and review of business performance and target achievement.Maintenance of relationship with key customers and stakeholders.Securing first class quality-of-service delivery to all customer segments and products through people, ICT and continuous service research and innovationDevelopment of customers and active acquisition of selected new customers.Monitoring of application of limits/procedures regarding handling of risk; contribution to early recognition of risks.Responsible for business development effort, product & channel developmentManage functional team’s performance and development.Staff motivation and development to ensure retention of highly motivated and committed human capitalContinuously monitoring economic, business regulatory and other related trends to determine their potential impact on plans and operations of the BankForge strategic alliances with key stakeholders designed to market mutually beneficial and profitable products and servicesUniversity Degree preferably in a Business related field.Having post graduate and / or Banking qualification will be an added advantage.Minimum of 8 years experience in commercial banking covering Corporate, Retail and Trade finance business with at least 5 years in a senior to top management position.Good overall appreciation and knowledge of the Banking Industry, latest market trends as well as challenges.Strong track record of success and delivery of business results.Excellent Cross-Cultural People Management skills, Team Motivation and Leadership CompetenceA good understanding of Banking Law and Practice as well as Corporate Governance Principles.Sound IT proficiencyAn appreciation of Risk Management and Knowledge of internal controls.Strong networking and interpersonal skills with proven people, leadership, communication and negotiation skillsProactive and customer-focused.Should have extensive industry knowledge, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with highly demonstrable competencies in building shared vision, championing customer focus and in managing people in a multi-cultural environment.Impeccable integrity and honest, possess good knowledge of ethics, governance and operation of boardsIf you believe you qualify for this position, please send your CV and details of your current and expected remuneration to resume@interviewupconsulting.com
