IOM currently implements interventions within the areas of emergency and post-conflict response, preparedness and response, disaster risk reduction, livelihoods, healthcare and psychosocial assistance, assisted voluntary return of migrants, immigration and border management, migration and development, resettlement and repatriation, family reunification, counter human trafficking, assistance to vulnerable migrants, and labour migration.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Under the overall supervision of the Regional Migration Health Assessment Coordinator for Africa, direct technical supervision of the National Migration Health Physician (in charge of TB), and in coordination with the Head of Migration Health Assessment Centre, the incumbent will work closely with government counterparts and partner agencies to develop and implement components of the MRF Nairobi Migrant Health Programme, with geographical focus on Kenya.
The incumbent is assigned to MHAC Nairobi.
In particular he/she will:-
- Perform registration and daily observed Tuberculosis (TB) treatment for all TB patients at the IOM Migration assessment Centre (MHAC) in Nairobi as per set procedures and consistent with the Kenya National TB Programme.
- Support the daily running of the IOM DOT Clinic in Nairobi, and assist other nurses and staff working in the DOT clinics
- Assist in the timely follow up of tests and examinations for all patients on TB treatment in Nairobi by timely schedules and referrals, and guide other DOT administrators on appropriate timely follow ups.
- Assist the National Migration Health Physician (in charge of TB) to establish, streamline and coordinate DOT TB Clinics in other parts of Kenya (Kakuma, Dadaab) and in the region.
- Maintain and update the Treatment and Work up Module on Mimosa for the cases in Nairobi and liaise with Daprofo for information and update of cases outside Nairobi.
- Maintain an updated consolidated excel sheet summary of all the TB cases in Kenya and of other regions reporting cases to the Nairobi TB unit.
- Perform contact and defaulter tracing of all TB patients in the IOM DOT Clinics and train/assist all other DOT administrators within Kenya and the region on these principles and procedures
- Order and collect TB drugs from the DLTLD and return required drug usage and stocks.
- Fill out treatment completion certificates at the end of each patient’s treatment when required
- Support MHAC activities as and when needed or requested.
- Assist in medical escort duties when needed or requested.

Education and Experience
- Completed Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- At least 4 years clinical work experience is required
- At least three years in handling and following up medical documents.
- Proven ability to coordinate work of others, within and outside IOM.
- Work experience in an international organization preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Training and experience in TB, STDs, HIV/AIDS counseling and other communicable diseases is considered asset.
- Working knowledge of Mimosa and other medical database systems.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality in performing responsibilities.
- Computer literate on Microsoft Word and Excel
Languages Required
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
