Registered Nurse
Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities and duties for Registered Nurse entails;
- Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions,
evaluating patient’s nursing care plans and preparing periodic reports. - Maintaining accurate, complete Health care records and
reports. - Diagnosing common health conditions;
- Providing appropriate healthcare service including Integrated
Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), Integrated Management of
Adolescents and Adulthood illnesses (IMAI), immunization and reproductive
health, providing health education and counseling to patients/clients on
identified health needs. - Administering medication to patients and monitoring them for
side effects and reactions. - Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge
plans. - Referring patients and clients appropriately
- Providing and coordinating patient care, educate patients and
the public about various health conditions, provide advise and emotional
support to patients and their families. - Reading and interpreting patient information, making treatment
decisions when appropriate - Consulting with supervisors and doctors to decide on the best
treatment plan for patients - Counseling and educating patients and their families on
treatment plans - Changing wound dressings and care for other treatment options
- Directing and supervising nurses, nurse assistants and nurse
aides - Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment;
- Identifying occupational health needs
- Research ways to improve healthcare processes and patient
outcomes - Collecting and Compiling Data
- Implementing recommendations from research findings for
improvement of care.
Minimum Requirements:
For appointment to this
grade a candidate must have:
- A minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience in a
busy Hospital with at least two hundred (200) bed capacity. - Diploma in any of the following disciplines; Kenya Registered
Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered
Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery or Kenya Registered
Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution. - Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of
Kenya. - 2023 Valid practising license from Nursing Council of Kenya.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
