Position: Senior Security Manager

Job Tasks:
 

Primary

• Report directly to the embedded security management team to provide after-hours security coverage for mining sites on South Coast, including but not limited to:

1. Mombasa Port Facility


2. Special Mining Lease (SML)


3. Residences and staff offsite

• Engage directly on security issues revolving around staff, guard force and community liaison,


• Provide rapid response to Significant Events in area of operation; Must be “On Call” to provide 24X7 support as required,


• Work flexible hours with primary working hours of 2000 to 0600, seven days a week,


• Gain in depth understanding of the operating environment including fixed sites and residential locations as well as overall environment,


• Conduct immediate and follow on investigation of any security related incident impacting or relevant operating environment during nighttime operations,


• Review and confirm existing security procedures for nighttime operations,


• Provide oversight of contracted security guard staff during night-time operations,


• Provide insight/expertise on technical equipment for security,


• Codify and formalize security plans and detailed SOPs as required,


• Provide coordination oversight to any host nation security forces conducting routine patrols or emergency response on site or other relevant activities,


• Provide detailed, daily situation reports to the security manager and General Manager of Community and Environmental Affairs as required.

Secondary

• Work closely with our client’s Ops team; with explicit guidance and requests for information from Valar personnel develop detailed reporting as required,


• Nurture and develop relationships with host nation security forces to include but not limited to:

1. GSU, NIS, ATPU, AP, KDF

• Observe nighttime routines of host nation forces, participate in training activities and provide guidance where appropriate,


• Provide guidance to host nation security forces as it relates to security matters relevant operating environment,


• Gather field information and provide to our client’s Ops Team to conduct link, social network, geospatial and imagery, to map environment as assist in Risk Reduction
