FHI 360 is seeking a qualified candidate for the below position:
 


Senior Technical Advisor


Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Position Summary: The Senior Technical Advisor will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to design and implement workforce development and demand-driven livelihoods interventions for youth and their households.


This position requires comprehensive understanding of technical and vocational training and experience in market systems development, livelihoods, and skills development, with strong organizational change and capacity building skills.


Minimum Requirements:


  • A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, International Development, Economics, Agriculture or vocational education fields with 10 years’ experience;

  • relevant experience in a leadership position responsible for developing market systems or livelihoods programming;

  • preference given to a candidate who has demonstrated experience in economic sectors important for youth employment in Kenya (e.g. agribusiness, retail, construction, etc.);

  • experience in projects promoting agriculture and livelihood interventions, preferably in Kenya;

  • familiarity and understanding of USAID policies and procedures (highly preferred), or those of other donors, donor-funded projects, community-based projects, or corporate social responsibility projects;

  • proven abilities to set priorities, multitask, and work collaboratively across technical disciplines;

  • possess outstanding professional reputation and have strong demonstrated interpersonal, written, and oral presentation skills;

  • well-developed written and oral communication skills in English required, Kiswahili preferred;

  • experience and demonstrated knowledge of workforce development and livelihoods best practices; and,

  • knowledge of and experience with the design, management and implementation of workforce development programs.
