Job Description

McKinsey is looking for a gender and youth expert (contingent on funding) for a programme on Entrepreneurship development in Ghana, Kenya and South Africa that is currently being tendered by a large donor. The aim of this multi-year programme is to create a local environment in which entrepreneurs can access the financial capital, skills and professional networks that they need to transform a business idea into reality.

Gender and youth experts are invited to submit their CV’s.

Responsibilities:

Lead gender analyses and research on country-specific gender norms and constraints for youth employmentIdentifying, building and managing relationships with strategic women’s and youth networks and organizationsProvide technical leadership on the design and implementation of gender and youth specific interventions and trainingsReviewing programme work plans to ensure that they meet gender and youth needs and providing strategic guidance to key staff

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in gender and youth inclusion, preferably in target countriesDemonstrated understanding of the local gender and youth needsExperience designing and conducting trainings on gender and youth integration processes and techniquesExtensive track-record integrating gender and youth considerations into development programmesExperience working in programmes involving large development agencies (e.g., DFID)
