ICAP Job Vacancy in Kenya : Infection Prevention Officer

Job Description ICAP of Columbia University is working in partnership with the Ministry of Health Kenya to strengthen HIV Care and Treatment services at County and Sub-County health facilities. This program is part of a US Government initiative against HIV in Kenya that receives funding from PEPFAR through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Applications are invited for the following position:
Infection Prevention Officer – Siaya County, Nyanza
Infection Prevention Officers will be responsible for maintaining high hygiene standards for the VMMC mobile teams, as well as coordinating surgical instruments sterilization for supplies and equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage equipment and supplies before and after VMMC servicesEnsure a steady supply of sterile MC packs the VMMC teamEnsure operating theatres, consultation rooms, and recovery areas are clean and ready for use during and after the VMMCKenya Certificate of Secondary Education, with higher education preferred.Trained and certified on VMMCHave at least one years’ experience in VMMC workDemonstrate awareness of the Infection Prevention and Universal Precautions guidelines and standard operating protocolsHow to Apply All applications including a current CV, telephone number and 3 referees (current/former supervisors should be sent to the HR and Administration Manager, ICAP icap.vacancies@gmail.com on or before 18th December 2014.
