Job Purpose:Drive the local tours segment by bringing in monthly revenue and building sustainable relationships with hotels & lodges stakeholders. Support the Operations & Marketing functions in creating and implementing all operations & marketing activities in line with Destination Kenya Ltd objectives.
Key Accountabilities: Drive the local travel sales arm of the business by bringing in monthly revenue based on targetsBuild and sustain long term relationships with key stakeholders: hotels, lodges and other suppliersSupport the operations & marketing functions in implementing agreed activitiesParticipate in product launches, trade fairs/shows and other promotional activities as approved by the Director MarketingSupport the Director Marketing & Sales in collecting signals from the market to keep in touch with tourism developments in Kenya, Tanzania & Zanzibar Assist Director Operations in responding to client enquiries and preparation of proposals and presentations.Activate and manage the company social media and website to ensure Destination Kenya Ltd is visible to local as well as international clienteleTailor make special packages in conjunction with hotels, lodges and airlines targeting local tourism sector and market online using social pages and website for Destination KenyaPropose and implement sales and marketing initiatives that will target local tourism sector Develop close working relation with Suppliers, KTB, KATO and other stakeholders in tourism in order to synergise on marketing aspects of Kenya as a destinationExecute operational programmes including entertainment ,MAAS, briefing and de-briefing of clients as approved by Director OperationsDevelop a supplier list and requirements for events, such as Conferences, Workshops & other meetingsDevelop a profile listing of all hotels & lodges in Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar with their highlights, facilities and room capacities.Maintain information, reports and documentation for all the marketing projects and activitiesUpdate operational data and information in our operational system.
Decision Making AuthorityDecision Making: Works under general supervision. Follows established procedures. No latitude for independent judgment.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
University Degree in Tourism with concentration in marketing fieldProfessional courses in business management, marketing and project management will be an added advantage
Minimum Experience: Must demonstrate leadership or vibrant personality through active participation in school clubs/movements and clearly demonstrate achievements
Impressive sales orientation with proven track recordAble to operate in a performance driven organizationGood presentation skills both orally & writtenCreativity & PassionCulturally aware.Knowledge of English and Kiswahili IT proficientDigital savvyExceptional conversational skillsOpen minded & charismaticCreate and maintain good working relationshipsStrong determination to excelAble to turn or see challenges as opportunities
Remuneration: Basic retainer plus attractive commission
