Market Development Manager role located virtually in Kenya.

The Market Development Manager role is responsible for growth and development of the different business units within the division in East and Sothern Africa regions. The Market Development Manager will play a key role in identifying new opportunities and driving business growth through market needs definition and developing solutions to address the needs. Focus will be on key markets such as infrastructure, mining, industrial and chemical.
The Performance Materials business in East and Southern Africa is strategic to the business and is expected to deliver significant future growth. The successful candidate will be proficient in both new business development (new applications, new customers), have high energy, and a high level of competency in Customer Intimacy, Opportunity Pipeline Management, and Functional Teamwork. Over time, the successful candidate will develop cross-functional expertise in Quality, Regulatory, Risk, Manufacturing, and Commercial. The division has dynamic business units within The Dow Chemical Company that provides unique opportunities for development, to learn business skills quickly, to be creative, and to have an impact within a team and business environment. A Market Development Manager is expected to define, develop and grow the various businesses in the region by initiating market assessments, developing knowledge on competitive offerings and implementing a road map/strategy for assigned portfolio.
Qualifications: University background- BS degree in science or engineering (preferably an MBA). Minimum experience of 8 years in market development role with Multinational companies within similar industries.
