Our client, a leading mission organization dedicated to awakening the church to its responsibility in environmental stewardship, is seeking to fill the position of a Farming God’s Way Field Extension Educator.
The ideal candidate will promote a God-centered approach to environmental stewardship and provide competent coordination of extension and educational outreach activities with farmers.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Coordinate the extension outreach component of the company’s Farming God’s Way program in a way that reinforces a God-centered vision of caring for creation.Training and Community DevelopmentPlan, organize and conduct FGW trainings in cooperation with the Executive Director or other company staff members.Conduct field visits with local farmers in the broader Kijabe area to support and encourage the adoption of sustainable agriculture methodologies.Provide biblically-based teaching to farmers.Conduct monitoring and evaluation activities with farmers.Compile and produce reports, maintain databases, etc.Skills and Qualification Required.
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or community development from a reputable institution or equivalent work experience.Current Driver’s license (qualified for operating a motorcycle a plus).Background or work experience in agriculture, forestry, conservation, or environmental educationMature Christian with a heart for ministering to local communitiesExcellent teaching skills / Demonstrated experience in teaching from ScriptureExcellent management, planning and administrative skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English and KiswahiliStrong computer proficiencyDemonstrated background in Christian ministry and outreachDemonstrated ability to appropriately supervise others and work as a teamAbility to relocate and live within reasonable distance from Kijabe.How to ApplyTo apply, send your CV and Cover letter ONLY to jobs@flexi-personnel.com before 14th April, 2014.
